Privacy and Cookies
I'm really glad you decided to visit my website, so I thought I should tell you what you can expect from me in return.
Cookies are tiny little text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device, for a variety of purposes. In most cases, the purpose and contents of this file are harmless and used for things like website analytics/statistics, or remembering what you have put into your shopping cart. Other uses for cookies include linking up with social media sites like Facebook, to allow you to easily 'Like' a page, or sending data about which websites you have visited in order to generate more targeted advertising. Some people don't like the idea of websites putting stuff on their computers, while others recognise that most cookies are there to improve the user experience or provide essential tracking. If you really strongly object to the idea of cookies, then you can turn off cookies in your web browser (here's how). But you probably won't be able to buy pretty things on the internet anymore, and you might find that some websites don't work the way they should.
Cookies on This Site
As this site is built on the Squarespace web platform, the site uses the Squarespace cookie, which is a single cookie used solely for the purpose of my website statistics. It doesn't know who you are, doesn't contain any nasty stuff and it doesn't send data anywhere outside of the Squarespace system. By accessing my website, you agree that it's OK for this cookie to be used for this purpose. Since it's a single cookie with harmless intentions, I didn't want to annoy you with one of those pop-up things that forces you to make a decision about cookies without even understanding what they are. I hope you don't mind.
About Your Privacy
If you fill in my website contact form, then you will need to provide me with your email address so I can get back in touch with you. Your personal details are not stored by the Squarespace system, which means only I will have access to them. I promise that I will only use your email address for the purpose of contacting you with regard to my services / your query, and I won't ever give it to anyone without your permission, or sell it to anyone full-stop - never, ever, ever. Seriously. I promise to respect your privacy, as I hate spammers and dodgy marketers just as much as you do.
That's about it on the privacy front. Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you can now enjoy my website with a clear conscience. But if you do have any questions, feel free to get in touch.
